Just wondering if anyone's checked NASA TV the past few days. Seems they're
getting back on the exploration bandwagon, with an emphasis on Apollo films,
and strong hints of renewed lunar exploration, contrary to ObamaSpace (which
is just about dead). It seemed to start since the Senate passed its NASA
Authorization bill, which includes a Heavy-Lift vehicle (75-100 ton lift), a
full-up Orion variant instead of a crew rescue-only version, ISS to 2020,
one more Shuttle flight, and much less money for commercial crew. The text
of the bill is at the Houston Chronicle's space blog, and it's interesting
for one thing: besides cislunar space, near-earth objects, and Mars, it
explicitly says missions to the lunar surface. Constellation may be dead,
but a version of it is rising, apparently.
